Activities

The shire has a wide variety of activities that you can participate in. Unless otherwise indicated (here or on the calendar) all of these activities are open to anyone who's interested and do not require garb (costumes).

Don't see your favorite activity here? Come to the shire meeting or post on our mailing list and see if you can get something started.

Shire Meetings: The shire business meeting takes place on the first Thursday of every month and starts at 7:30 PM.  The meeting is open to all, and is where we plan the shire events and activities.  The meetings are held at the Royer-Greaves School, 118 S. Valley Road, Paoli, PA unless otherwise indicated on the Shire calender.  Follow the directions for our Fighter Practices on the directions page to find the meeting. Please see the calendar for the location of this month's meeting. Contact the seneschal for more information.

Newcomer's Meeting: A occational gathering for people who are new to the SCA, new to the area or just feel that way.  This is a great way to meet members of the shire, get questions answered and socialize with other new folks. The meetings will be announced on the shire mailing list and added to the calendar. Contact the chatelaine for more information.

Archery Practice: Archery Practice is open to anyone, though minors must be accompanied by an adult. Loaner gear is available. Practices will be announced on the shire mailing list and added to the calendar. For more information, please contact the archery marshal.

Dance Practice: Dance practice is held on the every Friday from 7:30 to 10 PM.  When there is a fifth Friday in the month, there is an in garb dance/party in place of practice. The practice is held at Parkhouse near Collegeville.  Directions are on the directions page.  Contact our dance teacher for more information.

Fighter Practice: Fighter practice takes place every Wednesday from 7 PM to 9 PM at the Royer-Greaves School for Blind in Paoli. Directions are on the directions page.  Contact our Knight Marshal for more information.

Fencing Practice: Fencing practice takes place every Monday from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM at the First United Church of Christ in Spring City. A small donation ($3) is requested to help cover the fee for using this site and loaner gear.  Directions are on the directions page.  Contact our fencing marshal for more information.

Thrown Weapons Practice: Thrown weapons practices are held each in Birdsboro every Wednesday evening weather permitting from 6:00PM to 9:00PM or until it's too dark to throw. As the practice is outside, please contact the Marshal to ensure that it is happening. Contact info and directions are on the directions page.
