Greenlane Scottish/Irish Festival Demo **INCOMPLETE**

(At-a-Glance Event Information)

Friday, September 7th, 2007 to Sunday, September 9th, 2007

Hosted by Shire of Hartshorn-dale - Greenlane, PA

Come one, come all!  Join the Shire of Hartshorn-Dale for a weekend (or just a day) in our 6th year at the Festival.  This county sponsored, free event brings out approximatly 100,000 visitors over the weekend.  Enjoy time spent with friends working on your favorite medieval skill.  In our lakeside encampment we will have an Artisan's row, and an ample list field, with a space large enough to spread out, to put up pavilions, and demo many of the Arts and Sciences, Martial Arts, period games, and as well as dancing.  We have been able to have a large seige engine on site, much to the fascination of the crowds.  Heraldic display is desired and encouraged.

After a day of demonstrating on Saturday, we'll have a simple fare dinner for the participants.  A pot-luck breakfast on Sunday is in the offing for those who camp Saturday night or show up early Sunday morning.  There is plenty of camping space available, running water on site, non-flushing facilities nearby (with flushing ones a bit further away), and a beautiful misty lake to look at in the morning.

*Please note that the encampment must be set-up prior to the arrival of outside visitors, and tear-down cannot take place during the demo, unless you are camped within the wooded area which we use as a non-public space.

This is a dry site, as it is a county park.

Directions:

Green lane Reservoir Park is bordered by Rt 29 on the East side of the park, and we enter the park just north of Rt 63, from Rt 29 onto Hill Rd.  (Rt 476, the Northeast extension of the PA turnpike, has an exit for Quakertown that puts you onto Rt 663, which you can take west to Rt 29, then south) Detailed directions:

If you are coming from the south you pass Rt 63 and enter a curve that goes uphill, You will see a Road to the left that goes downhill, this is Hill Rd.  Turn LEFT here.**

If you are coming form the north you will pass through the town of Red Hill, and you will pass parts of Greenlane Park.  You will begin a downhill curve that first angles to the left, then twists to the right, you should be looking for a sharp right turn at this point.  Make the sharp RIGHT onto Hill Rd.  If you get around the curve and see signs for Rt 63, you have gone too far.**

**Continue down Hill Rd for a short distance, make a LEFT turn onto Greenlane Rd, then look for the sign at the entrance to the Park on your LEFT, and turn into the parking area.

There will be a wooded area near that parking area, we are down the walkway and on the right.
